We’ll workshop true stories that I and others have adapted. Our third hour is reserved for Q&A. Each pitch will be receive actionable feedback that will help students better understand how to use nonfiction as a jumping-off point for fiction.

Narrative Fest is a one-day intensive workshop in modern journalism developed and hosted by me and Jeff Maysh.
The program emphasizes practical, career-focused instruction from working journalists and editors and the focus is how to build a career in a fast moving landscape.
Participants learn how to identify compelling stories, develop and sell pitches, negotiate intellectual property rights, structure narrative nonfiction, and build sustainable careers. The workshop combines keynote presentations, fireside conversations, live pitch critiques, audience Q&A, and guest faculty. This will be in person in Downtown LA but you can stream and watch online too.
